We'll Never Forget

FROM THE AUTHOR:
There are two places that the proceeds from my book go towards supporting. $5.00 from each book sold goes towards the purchase of a monument that will be placed in France on Hill 70 that commemorates the actions of Canadian WW1 soldiers. This action of putting in monuments in Belgium and France is being done through the 48th Highlanders of Canada. When the first 3000 copies are sold, this will have been accomplished and then I will go to a second print of the book and do it all again!  To date, I have sold 2056 copies...so I am getting there!!!!   As well, $1.00 from the sale of the book goes towards the Legion Poppy Fund. I selected both of these places to donate as my grandfather fought in WW1 and I am doing this in his honour.

Pete Fisher is the reporter who spearheaded the drive to rename the route our fallen soldiers take from Trenton to Toronto, the "Highway of Heroes".

Portraits of Honour

(Updated June/20/2011) The Portraits of Honour National Tour is rolling across our country.  From big cities to the smallest of towns, the POH tour is making an impact on Canadians. The outpouring of patriotism, emotion and support for our Canadian Forces is overwhelming.

The Petrolia Cookie Lady

As of this posting (June/20/2011) the Petrolia Cookie Lady AKA Karen Wilson and her husband M.B. have sent over 37,000 cookies to deployed Canadian troops. Every shipment of first responder t-shirts that Hero To Hero Team Canada sends to deployed troops contains at least 50 dozen of these great shortbread cookies. This link will take you to the Cookie Ladies's Facebook page.

Canadian RED Ribbon Forces

As two retired people (Eleanor Bookman and Brian Goodfellow) they were looking for something to do together. They heard that the Kinette Club of Cornwall was trying to raise funds for their “Chosen Soldier Project” to send care packages to Canadian troops in Afghanistan. So after giving this much thought, they designed their own Canadian Red car magnetic ribbon that is UV protected and weather proofed, keeping in mind wear red on Fridays and our own Canadian red maple leaf. This project won the Kinette Club the national service award!
